Thomas Anan Kofi Ansre is the Country Director at 3T Ghana, where he provides strategic leadership and overall oversight of country operations. He ensures effective programme delivery, financial sustainability, and compliance with organisational and regulatory requirements, while strengthening partnerships, leading teams, and aligning national activities with 3T’s mission and global objectives.
Thomas brings over 35 years of professional experience in social and economic development. His expertise spans social development, monitoring, evaluation and learning, environmental management, development planning, policy analysis, gender and development, and microfinance.
Before joining 3T, Thomas built an extensive career across both the public and private sectors. He served as Senior Policy Analyst (Environment) at Ghana’s National Development Planning Commission, where he played a key role in national development planning, including contributing to Ghana Vision 2020 and designing monitoring and evaluation frameworks for large government programmes. He later worked as a Social Development Specialist and consultant on multiple World Bank–funded initiatives, where he led the social dimensions of Ghana’s land administration reforms and supported programme coordination, monitoring, and stakeholder engagement. In the private sector, Thomas has delivered studies, advisory services, and training assignments across several African countries for international organisations and government institutions, working on issues spanning land governance, livelihoods, environmental management, and institutional capacity building.
Thomas holds an M.Phil. in Development Studies and a Postgraduate Certificate in Research from the University of Bradford, England, as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Policy Analysis from the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS) in Nairobi. He earned his B.Sc. (Hons) in Geography and Resource Development from the University of Ghana, Legon.
His work is driven by a commitment to advancing development approaches that improve livelihoods, conserve the environment, and promote long-term sustainability.
