3T Secures Landmark Investment from Kansai Electric and Tokyo Gas to Scale Ghana Ecosystem Restoration Project

3t Team And Key Stakeholders En

I’m thrilled to share that 3T has reached an agreement with Kansai Electric and Tokyo Gas to advance our Community Restoration of Native Ecosystems project in Ghana.

This collaboration will enable the project in central Ghana to scale up by an additional 2,800 hectares, laying a strong foundation for achieving our ambition of expanding the project beyond 30,000 hectares.

This is the first early stage, nature-based carbon removal project Kansai Electric or Tokyo Gas has invested in directly. For 3T, it represents the first large-scale, direct investment into any one of our pipeline projects.

The project is currently registered under the Verified Carbon Standard (ID4126), and will transition to Verra’s VM0047 methodology and incorporate the Climate Community & Biodiversity Standards (CCBS).

From day one, our mission has been to create a high-quality ecosystem restoration project by emphasizing permanence, biodiversity, and community benefits. We’re deeply grateful to our partners for sharing this vision and backing it with action.

We’re also extremely excited to announce that on this occasion, Kansai Electric, through its group company K4 Ventures, is investing in 3T, cementing our growing partnership and supporting our multi-pipeline strategy.

With this project and the investment into 3T, we’re proud to be working with two of Japan’s leading energy companies to bring high-quality, impactful carbon removal solutions to life.

I’m deeply grateful to everyone involved, including our technical partners at Climate Investment Partners (CIP), who led the design and drafting of the Project Description, and above all, our dedicated local team in Ghana, who gave their everything day in and day out to make this significant milestone possible.

I’m now handing over to some of the individuals who made today’s announcement possible.

This milestone didn’t happen overnight. It’s the result of months of hard work, trust-building, and deep commitment from our team in Ghana. To see Kansai Electric and Tokyo Gas invest directly in our vision is both humbling and energizing. This is more than a carbon project – it’s a story of people, purpose, and persistence.
