Professor Jumanne Moshi Abdallah

Prof. Jumanne M. Abdallah is the Country Director for Tanzania at 3T, where he leads land acquisition, community engagement, and the development and delivery of nature-based carbon and restoration initiatives. His role focuses on ensuring effective execution of planting and agroforestry activities. Additionally, he places strong emphasis on community participation, FPIC processes, and regulatory compliance.

Prof. Abdallah has worked on carbon and climate projects in Tanzania and internationally. He brings over 20 years of experience in forestry, environmental economics, restoration, and agroforestry systems. His expertise includes community-led project development and climate mitigation.

Before joining 3T, Prof. Abdallah led and contributed to several large-scale sustainability and climate initiatives. These include the development of a Cluster Development Framework for the Kilombero Cluster with SAGCOT, WWF, and CARE. He has also supported energy efficiency projects for tea factories in Rwanda under the FONERWA programme and sustainable agroforestry projects in Timor-Leste.

Prof. Abdallah holds a Master’s degree in Forestry and Economics from Sokoine University of Agriculture. He also holds a PhD in Environmental Economics from ZEF Bonn University and Sokoine University of Agriculture. In addition, he has completed training in governance, administration, and community engagement.

Prof. Abdallah’s work is driven by a deep personal commitment to trees and forests. He works to advance climate action and meaningful community engagement that delivers real-world impact.
