Misaki Matsuo is the Project Development Co-Lead at 3T, where she leads the design and development of nature-based carbon projects, with a focus on reforestation, forest conservation, and robust carbon accounting frameworks.
With over 5 years of experience in reforestation and forest conservation, Misaki has developed strong expertise in project development, carbon modeling, and international carbon-related standards.
Before joining 3T, she worked across project design, field implementation and project management roles in the forestry and climate sector. She has contributed to the design of reforestation and conservation projects in diverse ecological and social contexts, supporting feasibility studies, carbon methodology application, and monitoring frameworks. Her work has bridged scientific research and practical implementation, ensuring environmental integrity alongside community and climate benefits.
Misaki holds an MSc in Forest and Nature Conservation from Wageningen University. She has also completed additional training in the UNFCCC and FSC frameworks.
Misaki’s work is driven by a strong commitment to protecting and restoring forest ecosystems through the development of high-quality climate projects. She strives for scientifically rigorous and socially responsible outcomes that deliver meaningful benefits to local communities.
