Inclusion, Innovation, and Integrity – Our Core Values

3t Core Values

Inclusion, Innovation, and Integrity are 3T’s core values. In this post, I’ll share what each of these values means to us and how they guide our work.

Inclusion – Leaving No One Behind

The most important stakeholders in our work are the community members we partner with. One of the root causes of climate change today is the inability of people to survive without cutting trees. Local communities are trapped in a degenerative economic system that forces them to degrade the environment just to make ends meet.

At 3T, our role is to turn this around by creating a restorative economic system—one that enables communities to thrive while helping to restore nature. This is the heart of our mission: to create restorative economies.

Inclusion is central to this. If we fail to meaningfully involve community members in our work, we have failed. As a core value, inclusion serves as a constant reminder of this responsibility.

But inclusion doesn’t stop there. We also work to ensure underrepresented or disadvantaged groups have the opportunity to actively participate in our projects and decision-making processes on the ground.

Innovation – Continuously Learning

When people think of innovation, they often picture a shiny new technological breakthrough. While that’s part of it, we see innovation more fundamentally as a mindset of experimentation and a system of continuous learning.

Together, these form the essence of innovation at 3T. We experiment, learn, and adapt. This cycle of continuous improvement is central to our work, and we’ve institutionalized systems of feedback and reflection to make sure we live by it.

Sometimes, innovation results in a technological intervention—something we’re actively working on and excited to share in the future. Other times, it’s a new process, like how we clear bushes or plan operations.

Innovation also means listening to voices that have been overlooked. In the context of our work, local and traditional knowledge is exceptionally valuable—what some might call “indigenous wisdom.” We view this knowledge as a form of technology, a critical source of innovation.

At its core, innovation for us is about continuous learning and deep listening—values that push us to keep improving every day.

Integrity – Never Compromising

The carbon markets we work in have long struggled with issues of trust and accountability. While “bad players” might sound harsh, low-integrity actions have been a systemic challenge in the scaling of these markets.

Perhaps, at times, these actions were born of necessity—the only way to get projects off the ground or make ends meet in a tough market. But regardless of the reasons, compromising on integrity damages the essence of the work and undermines the future of the markets themselves.

For 3T, integrity means being uncompromising in our commitment to honesty and quality at every step of the process. It’s about ensuring that the communities dedicating their lives to these projects can trust the system they’re part of. Without integrity, nothing else we do would hold.

In Summary

At 3T, Inclusion, Innovation, and Integrity define everything we do. By including local communities and underrepresented groups, fostering continuous learning and deep listening, and upholding uncompromising standards of honesty and quality, we aim to build restorative economies that create lasting positive impact.
